Jakarta - Recommended Hotels, Attractions, Landmarks & Recommended Golf Courses
Jakarta is a province comprising several cities. Central Jakarta is the busiest and most compact of these and where much of Jakarta's business and finance are conducted. Hotels in Central Jakarta are convenient to major company headquarters, high-end shopping, restaurants, bars and culturally significant landmarks like the National Monument, or MONAS. At the top of the MONAS is an observation deck that offers 360-degree views of the city.
Museums of note within Jakarta include the National Museum, the Puppet Museum, the Jakarta Fine Arts Museum, and the Indonesian Military Museum. For something a little more whimsical, Jakarta is also home to a variety of amusement parks. Ancol Dream Park offers rollercoasters and rides while Sea World has the largest aquarium in South-East Asia.
After dark, the nightlife in Jakarta is most active in Central Jakarta, with a range of nightclubs, live music venues and 24-hour cafés. In South Jakarta, Blok M is houses a number of discos, bars and clubs popular with expats and foreigners.
