Interactive Country Maps - Navigating the Maps
You can navigate (move your view) in two dimensions in any Map. To pan (move the
map), click and drag the map.To center and zoom in on a location,
double click
the location.
To center and zoom out on a location, right double click the location.
Using the Navigation Controls

The navigation controls you see at the maps
are shown on the left. Navigation controls include:
- Arrows - Click the appropriate arrow buttons to move
the view north, south, east or west. Click
to return to your original view.
- Street view (if available)
- Zoom - Click + to zoom in on the center of the map.
Click - to zoom out.
- Zoom slider - Drag the zoom slider up or down to zoom
in or out incrementally.

There are different views available in Google Maps. Click the appropriate view
in the right top corner of the map:
- Map - This shows a map with a traditional depiction of
roads, parks, borders, bodies of water and more.
- Satellite - This shows aerial imagery.
- Terrain - This shows physical elevation as shaded relief.
It also includes street names and other information.
- Earth - Earth view in Google Maps is a possibility to vie the map in 3D
Additional Navigation in Earth View:
Tilting: Using your keyboard, simultaneously hold down the Shift key and the Up arrow to tilt down or the Down arrow to tilt up. To tilt, you can also select Shift and use the scroll wheel on your mouse. You will be able to see 3D buildings, structures and terrain.
View 360: Enjoy a full sweeping 360 degree view of a single point by holding down the Shift key and the Right arrow or Left arrow.
Return to North-Up View: Sometimes when exploring in Earth view, you may loose track of what direction you are facing. Click the N which appears on top of the compass on the navigation bar in the left of the 3D viewer, and you will immediately be reverted to North-up view.
