Taiwan Travel - Accommodation, Attractions, Information
Taipei
Taipei is the epitome of Asian success. It has everything vacationers are after, from charming colonial districts and historic temples to magnificent green spaces and a hip, cosmopolitan edge.
Tourists divide their time between marvelous attractions like the National Palace Museum, part of a collection that originated in Beijing, and soaring sites like Taipei 101, which was until recently the tallest building in the world.
The commercial capital of Taipei is Da-an district, where hotel guests have access to a lively spread of department stores, restaurants and bars. This is where the best street markets are found, including venues that specialize in jade, flowers and electronics.

Kaohsiung
Kaohsiung is the second-largest city in Taiwan, and it has quickly risen to prominence in the past few years. Tourists are only now starting to take notice of its beautiful harbor and historic sites.
Taiwan's 'harbor capital' operates one of the most important ports in the world, and it was well-known in the shipping industry long before the tourism-driven restoration projects took hold.

Taichung
Taiwan’s third-largest city, Taichung has as much currency as a place to live than a place to visit. Everything from the weather to the cost of housing makes this a more desirable home base than Taipei, and there’s a relaxing, happy-to-here attitude in the city’s restaurants, parks and shopping complexes.
Taichung is situated on a plain in west-central Taiwan, where it claims one million residents and a unique Japanese colonial heritage. The town is a popular weekend destination for residents and expatriates.

Taoyuan
Taoyuan is a mostly industrial city in northern Taiwan. It lies on the outskirts of capital city Taipei, which can be reached by taxi in about an hour. The township itself doesn’t have many tourist attractions, but this is a popular layover point for trans-Pacific flights running through Taoyuan International Airport.
Taoyuan Airport is a dual-terminal facility that operates more flights than any other airport in Taiwan. Flights connect to all parts of Asia and along the west coast of North America. Regular flights are also conducted to key travel hubs in Europe. Airport hotels in Taoyuan are available for passengers on layover.

Tainan
Taiwan’s oldest city has a little bit of everything. It boasts ancient temples, a great lineup of annual festivals, beach access, and a famous food culture. While Taipei is an important part of any visit to Taiwan, Tainan is where visitors really start to connect with this island.
The historic sites in Tainan are in the city center, where the history of modern Taiwan began when Dutch colonials founded the first fort at Anping in 1624. The Chihkan Cultural Zone has the noteworthy temples. It stretches to cover the northern part of the old city and includes the impressive Chihkan Tower, Kaiji Tianhou Temple and ruins of Fort Provintia.
